Confidential Plant Manager- Aero

Job Information: Immediate opening for a Confidential Plant Manager for an Aerospace company in Greensboro, NC.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead all plant operations including machining, assembly, inspection, and support functions

  • Drive daily execution to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments

  • Establish clear priorities across all active jobs and ensure alignment across departments

Production Planning & Execution

  • Partner with planning/scheduling to ensure work is sequenced effectively across total lead time

  • Shift operations from reactive “job chasing” to structured, predictable throughput

  • Monitor and manage WIP levels to improve flow and reduce bottlenecks

Performance Management

  • Own and improve key metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), throughput, labor efficiency, and quality

  • Implement data-driven management routines (daily/weekly reviews, KPI tracking)

  • Identify and resolve root causes of delays, rework, and inefficiencies

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable production supervisors and functional leaders

  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure appropriate staffing, training, and workforce utilization

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards and customer requirements

  • Partner with quality leadership to reduce defects and rework

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with supply chain, quality, finance, and program management

  • Support coordination between manufacturing and Client’s MRO/modifications business

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive process improvements in production flow, capacity utilization, and cost control

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles where appropriate

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 10-15+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, ideally in aerospace or precision machining

  • Demonstrated success improving production flow, OTD, and operational performance

  • Experience leading teams in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining operations and production environments

Preferred:

  • Experience in aerospace, rotorcraft, or defense manufacturing

  • Background in build-to-print manufacturing environments

  • Experience in private equity-backed or performance-driven organizations

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven operations

Compensation & Benefits

  • $165,000-$185,000 + 20% incentive bonus
